Florida State’s Collegiate Recovery Program
Research, art direction, design, production
In the spring of 2020, FSU’s Center for Health Advocacy & Wellness (CHAW) approached my office seeking help with branding for their newly-formed collegiate recovery program (CRP). The purpose of the organization is to create an on-campus community for current and incoming students who are in recovery from alcohol and drug dependencies.
The creative brief was to make the visual identity of the program as uplifting and optimistic as possible. It was also important that any new pieces tied into the larger Live Well! FSU brand, a branding “umbrella” that our office established the year prior in an effort to unify identity and messaging for all health- and wellness-related programs/departments on campus.
The new program’s logo adopts the ‘“wellness feather” from the Live Well brand. The adjoining mountain symbolized the obstacles of addiction and recovery (ones that are to be overcome!).
Photographs containing lush greenery and serene mountaintops are meant to encourage feelings of calm and growth. Pops of purple pepper the designs, a nod to the official color of National Recovery Month (September).
The brand launched at the start of September 2020, kicking off additional Recovery Month programming.
